About Plecia
Plecia Decision Assurance Engineering is an independent consultancy being established to provide evidence-based assurance for complex decisions, information and supply chains.
The business is founded on a straightforward principle:
Important decisions and claims should be capable of being examined against appropriate evidence.
Organisations can generate large quantities of technical, commercial and management information. The challenge is not simply having information available, but determining what is known, what is supported by evidence, what remains uncertain and where further investigation may be required.
Plecia provides structured, impartial assessment to help clients examine the evidence and reasoning supporting significant decisions, information and supply-chain activities.
The business is being developed around three principal areas: Decision Assurance, Evidence & Documentation Assurance and Continuous Supply-Chain Assurance.
Professional Background
Plecia draws upon more than three decades of experience within complex and highly regulated engineering environments, including the UK nuclear, aerospace and defence sectors.
Professional experience includes engineering, software and control systems, technical authoring, programme planning and controls, project and programme management, evidence and documentation review, and assurance activities.
This experience provides the foundation for a structured approach based upon evidence, traceability, clear reasoning and independent assessment.
Plecia is also continuing to develop its professional competence through relevant qualifications and continuing professional development, including AAT Level 2 and Level 3 studies. This forms part of the continuing development and maintenance of a SQUEP (Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person) evidence base relevant to the services undertaken.
Our Role
Plecia does not act as a design authority, management decision-maker or substitute for specialist legal, regulatory, security or other professional advice.
Our role is to provide an independent perspective, structured assessment and clear reporting to help clients understand the strengths, weaknesses, gaps, assumptions and uncertainties within the information being considered.
Our Core Values
- Independence
- Integrity
- Objectivity
- Evidence Before Opinion
- Clear Communication
- Continuous Professional Development
Our Commitment
Every engagement is approached objectively and documented clearly, allowing clients to understand the basis for the assessment, the evidence considered and any areas where further assurance or specialist advice may be required.
The aim is not simply to identify issues, but to provide a clearer basis for confidence, improvement and well-supported decision-making.
